“Globalisation is not just compiling economic, financial, and trade standards – it needs to have a moral compass. The only way globalisation will succeed is on condition that it puts human culture and civilisations at its heart”, stressed Jean-Christophe Bas, CEO of the Dialogue of Civilizations Institute during his speech at the 6th India Ideas Conclave. The event was held on 28 Feb – 1 March 2020 in Gujarat, India.

“The challenge in future is how to combine the legitimate needs and aspiration of people for their culture, tradition, and identity with global responsibilities and challenges and to see what will keep us all together as humanity”, highlighted Bas, “a world where cultures , traditions
and civilizations can transcend their differences and define shared views shared and with
shared goals”.

Jean-Christophe Bas had several talks regarding collaboration with India Foundation at the conference, including discussions with Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Indian Minister for External Affairs, with Suresh Prabhu, Sherpa for the G20 and former Union Minister.
