United Nations Alliance of Civilizations Global Summit in Baku (Azerbaijan) : The Global Compass organized a business symposium on the Role of the private sector in promoting Inclusive Societies

The Government of Azerbaijan, host of the Global Forum of the UN Alliance of Civilizations Summit, has tasked The Global Compass with organising a high level business symposium on “Living Together in Inclusive Societies : the Role and Responsibility of the Private Sector”.  The symposium was organized in partnership with the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan Azpromo and the UN Global Compact. Panelists included senior business executives from around the world such as Silvere Delaunay, Vice President Airbus Group International ; Omar Qureshi , Managing Director Entertainment Ventures Pvt. Limited (India) ; Bill McAndrews, Vice President BMW Group : Jonathan Schen , CEO Shinework (China) ; Vladimir Iakounin , former CEO of Russian Railways ; Sebastien Crozier, CEO Orange Horizons…and was moderated by Stefan Grobe, Washington correspondent for Euronews. The symposium came up with a set of recommendations: mainstreaming the goal of building inclusive societies in the Corporate Social Responsibility agenda ; appointing within senior corporate management a representative in charge of diversity and inclusion ; scaling up corporate initiatives to promote inclusive societies…
